Ok ,

I was 14 when I picked up my first deck of tarot cards.

I felt so taboo and rebellious and... witchy!

I remember the thrill of looking through the collection that were on the shelves of the one metaphysical friendly bookstore we had in town. Drooling over some I could never afford, nodding sagely at some I didn't understand or vibe with, and finally finding 'the one'.

Sneaking them home in my backpack, I couldn't wait to open them up and dive into the amazing world that was somewhere between Narnia and Beauty and the Beast. (This was before the Harry Potter craze keep in mind).

With baited breath, I unpacked and opened the box, slid the cards out, shuffled, and pulled a full Celtic Cross that the guide pamphlet showed. And...

I went cross eyed. Glancing between the position descriptions and the card meanings and the cards in front of me, I was convinced I was doing something wrong. Weren't these things supposed to talk to you?

It was a muddled mess and the cards soon found themselves buried in the bottom of a drawer.

Over the years, I kept wanting to be a tarot reading kind of person. I never lost my interest and the idea of reading continued to sing a siren song to me. But every time I tried to get back into the habit I'd inevitably hit that frustration with how hard I had to try to get a message that really didn't resonate anyway.

Fast forward a couple decades as life marches on and experiences temper that impatient teen. Thanks to a friend, I finally got my hands on a deck I actually connected with. It was a totally new experience, but still not what I'd always dreamed of.

Until! After having my third and final baby. So much in my life unlocked after that long and difficult journey. As he and I both healed and our family settled into the new normal, I found my way back to my cards.

Suddenly they were speaking to me like never before! With the help of some amazing books, blogs, and other resources we didn't have back in the day, I was now reading cards the way I had always longed to.

Part of me dreamed of reading professionally but I scoffed at that idea every time it surface. Who was I to read for others let alone charge for it?!

I wasn't from some Romani blood line. I hadn't been reading since I was a toddler. I still got stuck some times and had zero confidence in my new found ability. What if it disappeared?

Here's the thing , I kept feeling that pull and getting signs that my path was to read professionally. More even, I was going to combine several passions and personal strengths and serve others in a truly amazing way.

I remember the Spring night I finally let myself say yes. To stop giving up on something I hadn't even tried. Yes to allowing my own unique magic to flow and share it with the world.

It's been almost three years since that yes, and my horizons just keep getting bigger and brighter.

We're officially in the spring season now (even if I flubbed the dates some) and now is the most incredible time to set intentions and embrace renewal.

Breathe new life into those long held dreams. Set some big, bold, beautiful goals. Let the magic blossom and unfurl in your every day in the most breathtaking ways.

But an important part of that process... is NOT. GIVING. UP!

I'm so excited for the energy this turn of the wheel has brought to me and I'm tingling to share it with you!

I can't (and don't want to) imagine where I'd be today if I'd kept those cards buried in that drawer. If I'd let my teen angst or my self doubt keep me from every taking a chance. I'm grateful every single day that I said yes to the magic within. That I didn't give up.
