Does it hardly seem possible that we should already be at the midwinter mark? And yet with one of the wildest winters in a while marching steadily on... here we are!

January seems to have passed in a blink of an eye and today marks the beginning of the second semester for our homeschooling. With many long and sleepless nights of late... well it's all a bit of a blur. Yet I couldn't be more grateful for each day.

I'm given constant reminders of how far we've come as a family, how far I've come in so many ways, and how limitless the world truly is! Even on my hardest days. Even when my energy is non-existent. Even when only my own belief of what is possible serves as evidence. The Universe is so open to me now.

Imbolc Arrives

Friday February 1st marks the midwinter festival! We will officially be halfway between equinoxes and the first stirrings of Spring will be arriving.

Do you celebrate these dates? I personally mark them, though admittedly my celebrations or usually small. Its a chance for me to share something special with my family and honor the Wheel of the Year in a meaningful way for me.

This date is associated with several ways honor the sabbat that might sound familiar to you. Things like planting the first seeds of the season while setting intentions that will grow with them. Lighting candles to ward off the dark days that are moving behind us. Cleansing your space and self to embrace the return of the light.

Of course, as with all witchy holidays, there's food and divination and honoring nature too. How do you usually celebrate this day?
