bring back,

bring back-

something that you love

and want to keep

in the centre of you deep;

something above,

the polite code

and complement

a lonely heart can like, but also resent-

into your abode.

bring it back,

bring it back

now, and hold it close-

knowing it forever wants you most,

and won't expect, or swank too much,

or overplay its words with such

syllables of cajoled intent-

but keep it true, and said anew

in ways we can unlock and re-invent

with playful argument.
