🐱 Meet, Goldie, my alarm clock! He is literally doing this every morning between 5 am and 6 am!
Goldie is stealing my socks and doing some strange movements with his paws. I should probably share a video next time.
⏰ So, what do I do when I get up around 6 am? I do four things before starting work:
- Turn off my internet connection on my phone;
- Make double coffee ( coffee addict here);
- I am reading a book(s) for an hour;
- I do my workouts right after I finish reading.
I found this morning routine very successful for me as I never skip the two most essential things in my life (besides my family, friends, and significant other) – reading and working out.
If you struggle to do an “X,” prioritize it first thing in the morning and make it a habit. Even if this means to wake up two hours earlier before your significant other and the kids.
If you are struggling with early mornings, let me give you my cat, Goldie. He will wake you up with not that gentle bite on your nose. If that doesn’t wake you up, then I don’t know what will.
Okay, let’s get back to today’s topic.
🔗 My Link building Experiment
So, I have one competitor (coupon niche) where he has a domain "X". He bought a powerful domain “Y” and redirected it (301) to domain “X” (he is “milking the cow”). However, apparently, they overcooked domain “X” (which means that they might have implemented some black hat SEO tactics), so they bought a new domain, which I will call a domain “Z.”
Now domain “X” and domain “Y” are redirecting (301) to the new domain “Z” (again, “milking the cow” on another level). Hmm, this looks like a very “juicy” story.
Now, domain “Y” (strong domain) has some excellent links from very strong and well-known marketing SaaS products.
It seems like my competitor did an outreach link building campaign; otherwise, he wouldn’t have been able to attract links from these websites (it’s a coupon site which isn’t very related to the marketing SaaS niche; however, the topic of the article they used for link building is super related).
The thing is that they don’t link directly to the brand new domain “Z,” but instead to the redirected domain "X" (which practically doesn’t exist anymore). So, I plan to reach out to each website manually and let them know that they link back to a redirected blog post.
Moreover, I prepared a ten times better article than my competitor’s, including data and stunning visuals.
I am basically doing the famous skyscraper link building outreach technique with personalized emails, as I will include actual screenshots from the redirects itself. Otherwise, most people won’t get the story I just told you – domain “X,” domain “Y,” domain “Z” redirects to where? – way too complicated to imagine it without a screenshot.
Next week, I will report the stats and the exact email I will be sending.
📈 A 200% growth update (happy about it)
If you haven’t seen the update on Twitter which I’ve posted, here is the Tweet chain:
1/4
"Update 200% growth: 4 young niche websites
- 6 months ago I reported that I have 4 young niche websites, a total of $10K investment (max), earning around $200 per month from the Amazon affiliate program."
2/4
"In April, Amazon cut its commissions:
- 3 of my websites went from 6% to 3%
- 1 of my websites (highest orders volume) went from 5% to 1%"
3/4
"All this resulting in earnings plummeting down. However, in October, I am happy to report that:
- Total clicks have grown by 120%
- Conversion rate has grown from 7-8% to 12%
- Income has grown from $200 to $280 (remember, after commissions cut)"
4/4
"If Amazon hadn't cut its commissions, today my profit would have been well above $600-$700.
NB, until the mid of Oct, I haven't added any new content and no link building.
I have mainly optimized and tweaked the old content."
📽️ Next week, expect a new tutorial on how to use Fiverr for link building.
Own your future, Friends!
