Y'all, this month has been so good for my writing and work! And I'm getting my newsletter out. A day late, but you're getting special news all the same!
I've written nearly 15,000 words this month, had several graphic and cover design projects, worked on something for a client, and helped work on starting the garden... We're late planting, however, it's due to the crazy rain lately so hopefully we can finally get our seeds in and they won't be drowned as we're not supposed to have much rain this week.
My most exciting news (to me, at least!) is to share that Seize the Fight is now available for pre-order!
Can you believe it?!
About Seize the Fight
Honoring the Freedom of the Savior
Freedom. Liberty. Independence.
All forms of freedom have a cost. Seize the Fight pulls readers into an anthology of stories all showing freedom. An Army veteran crashing at his sister’s with hidden pain, a lieutenant returning home from overseas, siblings celebrating the Fourth even in the midst of turmoil, and many more stories all show a form of freedom and the fight it represents in some way.
Freedom can mean many things as is shown in this anthology with tales of finding freedom from the past, freedom from slavery, and freedom from sin through Christ who saves…
Galatians 5:1
Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
The first TWENTY-FIVE paperbacks pre-ordered will receive physical goodies along with digital goodies!
As to my writing this month, well, I wrote a short story! I'm submitting it to an anthology (not my own) and am so excited to publish it either in the anthology or by myself some time.
Born Royal is based on my original FIRST ever writing project that I actually wrote part of. It's been laying in pieces in a doc of nearly 45,000 words that are such a horrible, embarrassing, and hilarious mess. Seriously, that story is just .... WOW and crazy looking back now. But it is my baby. It's a story that was more of an idea of a series that I hope to one day finish.
I don't think I'd still be writing if I didn't start that story.
Sure, at the time it didn't survive the family drama going on due to health issues for relatives, it didn't make it through my horror at math and hate of classical reads for school, but it made it till now.
And that's what matters.
Born Royal was my first ever work-in-progress (five titles ago, three series names, and a pen name ago anyway.) that made it to the writing stage, not the dreaming stage, and it's the story that I want to do right by now that I've lost something of my crazy dramatics.
Now, Born Royal is the series name as well as the prequel short story's title!
The cover is finished... For now, lol, there are changes to be made to it, however, the first design is started and ready to be finished when I know if it'll be in the anthology or not.
About Born Royal
Born to royalty by birth. Tied to traitors by blood. Left to death by all.
Micheal Salvador was birthed into his position of a prince, a place he went on to earn through the war that broke his country apart and left seeping wounds in the stead of love though he finally found his place upon returning to the cold stone home he’d grown up in with love unconditional.
Yet the shadows tread before him, blood spilled by hands he once trusted, the expectations of life leaving a bitter taste in his mouth even as he followed his father’s—both earthly and Heavenly—laws.
When all of the facts are thrown into the light with twisted secrets what will be the end? Facing death or loss does he run or does he stay?
If Born Royal is not accepted into the anthology, don't worry! I'll still publish it... One day!
I also have a secret project. Le sigh. This project is due on the 30th and I'm not really even half done. Which, aye yai yai! Is. Not. Listening. To. Me. And it needs to be finished. Ugh, it's been wonderful to have gotten so much writing done on other things. This one story just does. not. want. to. listen. *cue desperate sobs* Prayers would be very appreciated that I could figure out where God wants me to go with this story and that it would be for His glory and honor as well as bless the people it is for.
Last but not least, which pet do you think joined the Harris family?
- Hamster
- Duckling
- Turkey
- Goldfish
- Goat
- Sheep
The first person to guess correctly will receive an ebook which will be announced in my next newsletter!
