Ideas & Beliefs I'm Pondering

  • What if the world is out to do me good (instead of out to get me)?
  • What if there's a good reason when things happen that I don't like, even if I never know what that reason is?
  • What if there is no wasted time or money, just opportunities to learn or nudges to alter course?
  • What if things turn out for the best eventually?
  • What if I could listen to and trust my intuition more?
  • What if I could welcome negative emotions like stress, frustration and discouragement and consider what they are trying to tell me or what they need from me?
  • What if releasing my desire to control situations actually allowed me to receive more instead of less?

These are not necessarily religious or spiritual ideas, but they could be. These beliefs can also be thought of as a high level of optimism.

I've been experimenting with these questions to see how they impact my mood, my experiences, and my overall day. Sometimes they are fairly easy to embrace (especially when things are going well), and sometimes it's a struggle. I have parts (using Internal Family Systems concepts) that can get loud that just don't buy in. But if I can get quiet and reflect on these ideas, I can find a little more peace.

Are there a couple of questions from above that you would like to experiment with this week? I would love to hear how it goes!!
