Being Human Is Not for Sissies!!
A couple of weeks ago, I attended a deep meditation workshop. By the end, there was a message that kept repeating in my mind. Being human is not for sissies!!
First, life can be hard. Whether it's the day-to-day disappointments and struggles to the bigger trauma and terrible tragedies we experience.
But often, the worst part is how we treat ourselves. We can have a very negative voice that beats us up, even when life itself is fine. This voice can tell us we're not worthy, that people are bad, that the world is against us. It judges ourself, others and situations.
My request for you this week is to remember that we all have imperfections, wounds, and baggage that we are carrying. So be a little nicer to yourself. Show yourself a little more compassion, patience, and forgiveness.
You are here to enjoy life. You will make mistakes and life will not go as planned, but the more flexible we can be, the less we resist "what is," the easier life will be.
Write yourself a message that resonates and put it on your bathroom mirror, on your fridge, on your devices. Here are some ideas to get you started.
Life is good.
I am worthy.
The world is out to do me good.
I forgive myself for not being perfect.
We are all trying to do our best.
