If You Could Give Advice to Your Younger Self

Take a moment and think of what advice you would give your younger self. You could pick an earlier time that was especially difficult for you. Maybe it was middle school or high school. Maybe it was early in your career or marriage.

With your current experience, wisdom, and learnings, what advice would you give yourself that would make the struggles and stress easier?

I know I would tell myself not to take things so personally. I would also say to have more fun and worry less. And I would tell myself to follow my dreams and passion; to do what I enjoy and what calls to me.

I would tell myself to be more patient and forgiving with myself and others. I would say that other people say and do things they don't really mean because they are hurting, have wounds, and are imperfect humans (just like me).

I would say to lead with my heart more and my head less and that it's OK if my head and heart don't always agree. I would tell myself to keep an open mind and consider other perspectives and beliefs and that it's OK to question or even change my beliefs and ideas.

What does your advice look like?

The real question is, are you following that advice today? Maybe it's not just your younger self that needs this advice. Hmmm.
