Your Just One Thought Away from . . .

Imagine you're sitting at the table with your family having dinner. The food is good. The conversation is good. Then, suddenly, you remember the work meeting you have tomorrow that you're dreading. Your thoughts bring up stressful feelings. Your "nice" dinner mood suddenly turns sour.


Imagine you're lying in bed, feeling sleepy and relaxed. You're looking forward to a good night's sleep. Then, suddenly, you remember the heated conversation you had with your mom. You regret some of the things you said. You feel your body tense, and you know it's going to be hard to turn off your thoughts and sleep.


So much of our day is thinking thoughts. And many of these thoughts bring on negative feelings. Worrying about upcoming issues (that may or may not happen). Replaying past frustrations and drama.


How often do you think about what you think about? And yet, these thoughts your mind generates have a HUGE impact on how you experience your day! How often do you choose your thoughts vs how often do they choose you?


My message for you today is to remember... you're only one thought away from sadness, one thought away from stress, one thought away from discouragement. AND you're only one thought away from happiness, one thought away from gratitude, one thought away from curiosity. This is your choice, when you remember you have a choice.
