Why Bother? You Already Know This

You already know most of the ideas and information I share in my weekly tips to help you stay positive, so why bother reading them?  Why would you want to read similar information multiple times in multiple ways? Here are three things to consider.

If you are like most people, you need repetition because you get distracted. So many other priorities take over that we don’t even think about what we’ve learned, much less remember to apply it. There are so many negative messages coming at us that the few positive nuggets get lost. We need consistent positive mental nutrition to keep us in balance.

Another benefit to getting similar information in multiple ways is seeing it from different perspectives. I’ve read many books, watched several videos, and have participated in a variety of workshops and classes related to Positive Psychology. I find that each author or lecturer can say the same thing but in a different way so that every time I hear it, I gain a deeper understanding, and it becomes more clear. Sometimes, I hear something in a different way, and it suddenly makes total sense.

And finally, our own views change because of what we learn and experience in our lives. I can actually reread the same book a year later and get way more out of it because of how I have changed.

Besides these tips, what other ways do you bring positive messages into your life? How could you add more?
