Are We Brave Enough to Let Them Walk Away?

There is a question at the heart of every serious conversation about education, and it is one institutions are structurally designed to avoid. What if attendance were voluntary. Not rhetorically voluntary. Not theoretically optional. But structurally non compulsory. What if students came because they chose to come. Stayed because they wanted to stay. Committed because the work itself demanded their commitment.
