The Monetize: Sell Thinking At Scale by Tim Conley

Pay a whole year of expenses in one month?

There's no rule that says you must take all year to afford your lifestyle.

Would you want to join me for a 2026 challenge with the goal of making an additional $100k in the first 100 days of the year?

I just had this idea as I sat down to write this newsletter. Reply back and let me know if you're interested. I'm thinking we'll do livestream training on how to do the challenge and do live office hours every 10 days.

Reply back if you're up for it.

On to the newsletter...

Dan Sullivan of Strategic Coach gave a guest presentation at a mastermind I attended some years back. He talked about how celebrities earn the bulk of their income in a matter of weeks instead of like employees who earn their income working every week for a year.

Nearly all entrepreneurs earn like their employees, not because they have to, but because they've never thought about a way to make more money in a shorter time frame.

I took action on this lesson during the mastermind. I wrote an email to my list offering a new 6 week training program for $2500 and I would limit it to 50 people. I believe about 38-ish signed up for the first round. Before I got home from the week long mastermind, I had $95,000 deposited in my bank account.

If you've followed me for a while, you've heard me talk about $100k over and over. It was the number I dreamt about when I started my career and for many years it was what I spent in a year on my lifestyle.

This reframing of when my money was made changed how I saw my business. I could bring in enough money in the first month of the year to cover all of my personal expenses for a year so anything I made after that was like getting Christmas presents all year.

I've used this concept of earning like a celebrity over and over. It's how I came up with the 4 Yes Theory. Getting 4 people to say yes to a brand new offer you've created can change your life.

An agency I invested in had stagnant revenues so I flew out to their offices and invented a brand new service. I think I called it something lame like Marketing Engine. I set the price at $25,000 and told the founder to call all our clients until he got 4 yeses. In a week, we had $100k come in above our normal monthly billing.

I chose $25k for a few reasons...

1) it's easy math to conceptualize, 2) clients averaged $3000 a month and I wanted an amount big enough to reframe the founder's mind, 3) it is the minimum I've coached experts to charge clients for custom work.

Here's what I want you to do:

  1. Write down the services you offer your clients and how long it takes you to earn the annual revenue per client.
  2. Craft a package of services that you can deliver within one month -- max 2 months.
  3. Set a price that is at least 50% the annual revenue per client. I hope you pick $25k or more.
  4. Call all of your existing and past clients and offer it to them.

If clients aren't receptive to your pitch, then ask them what they want instead.

Most will tell you what they would prefer.

Then you alter the offer a bit and keep calling until you've gotten at least four yeses.

Don't overcomplicate the process.

Don't overthink it.

As Nike says...

Just Do It.

By the end of January you could have enough money in your bank account to pay all your bills for a year.

Go get money faster,

Tim Conley

PS. In this week's episode of The Monetize (listen | watch) I lay out how even a physical therapist could do this by emulating Wim Hof. His business requires hands to touch other humans. Even in a completely non-digital business there's no reason for him to take a whole year to pay for his lifestyle.
