Odin in The Dark Forest. I have a part of my Altar that I call The Dark Forest where lots of Witchy statues live. It's also where I have a skull for a Hell Hound Servitor I have. When this little Odin statue arrived, after spending a few days with him, he let me know that although he'll be travelling, for now, he'd like to live in the dark Forest. He's maybe 10cm tall, complete with his wide brimmed hat and his crows, Huginn and Muninn. Odin Statue on the Altar. There's a portion of my altar I call "The Dark Forest." I have several statues there... gnomes, Russian doll, Baba Yaga, a He'll Hound Servitor skull, owls, The Hermit.... When I received the little Odin statue, and after spending some time with him... he told me he'd be travelling, and for now wanted a spot in The Dark Forest. When I went to the Altar with him, I had forgotten that the incense burner there is in the shape of a Viking Ship, and I had a little laugh. I got a "That's the Spot." Lammas is The Devil in The Book of Shadows Tarot. This deck describes The Devil as indulging yourself while not taking into consideration the consequences. It signifies a dangerous situation that is difficult to escape from. Although this card also throws in 'savoring what physically felt good while you were at it', this card from this deck is all about what comes AFTER that. Not exactly what I would expect from Lammas, but here we are. I interpret the Devil much differently In a reading. More of the 'Taking responsibility for your actions' sort of thing. I never read this card as "but what did someone ELSES actions look like." And always "What did I do?" So, today, even if it feels seductively good, look before you leap. And get good beforehand with the possible fallout. And if it's already 'a situation, next comes admitting your responsibility within it. Heavy. Sorry about that. Just a little Deviant Moon before bed tarot. In all the years I've been reading for myself with this deck, I've never pulled The World card. I was completely struck by the message but also how beautiful and strong and easy this card is. Just look at all the beautiful beasties mastered.
