The Goldbackers,
Initially, it seemed like Goldbacks were experiencing minimal changes as summer rolled in. However, there was the positive development in the form of new businesses signing up at the "Merchant Page," setting records. But that was about it. Then, some new 1/4 GB series rollouts were announced, followed by some re-designs of the Utah series. Additionally, there were news items from Arizona where Goldbacks are truly in the spotlight. We will delve into these details below. Also, it's worth noting that the start of the California GB series in July 2026 was already underway.
As mentioned earlier, Goldback Inc. continues to add 1/4 GBs to series that didn't have them. Florida will receive the quarter GB, and the 2GB will be added to the series. We also received a re-design of the Utah series, bringing them up to the UV security standard. As we know, California GBs are in the works. Furthermore, Goldback Inc. released a map of the USA with a triangle over the Southeast and extending up to about the Washington, DC, area. The company says that one of the states within the triangle will have some Goldback news this year.
The state of Arizona seems to be having one grand old rollout of their Goldbacks series. For starters the state treasury has sent a bill to their Gov. that will require the AZ Treasury to hold 10% of their funds in psychical Gold and Silver. That sounds like alot of Gold and Silver to me. And if they are smart in AZ, they will keep a chunk of their funds in Goldbacks!
Next, Arizonan high school students were asked to provide their own artwork digitally and in graphite pencil form, for the possibility of being chosen to press a Goldback note out of! A public exhibit was held to award Goldback prizes to the top artists chosen, and to present the Goldbacks created from their artwork. People learning abut Goldback at community scale is pretty exiting to say the least!
