Passion vs. Skills
Apr 15, 2025 4:56 pm
Hi there,
When it comes to choosing a franchise to buy, your passion for something shouldn't dictate your choice in a franchise opportunity. Your top skills, dominant personality traits and financial situation should.
For example, if you're a "foodie," it doesn't mean you should buy a food franchise. Unless...
Unless you've done a lot of work in the food/restaurant space. That changes things.
But, if you never worked in a restaurant-preferably in the service and management area, becoming a franchisee in the food-service space may not work out for you.
Not because you're not good. But because owning a food business is full of frustrations, pressure, and a lot of physical work. It may be the toughest business in the world. I know. I worked in full service restaurants for years.
Bottom line?
Think carefully about what you're passionate about and what your experience is...combined with your money situation and your top skills.
