ANNOUNCEMENT!

Drum roll please đŸ„

WHEN FOREVER COMES IS BECOMING AN AUDIO BOOK!

I got to work with an INCREDIBLE narrator who I think nailed each character. Listening to my book come to life with her voice was so amazingly surreal. If you're an audio book listener, I hope you give it a chance!

This week, I approved the files for the audio book, so I'm hoping it's approved and published super soon. But we never know with these things. I'll let you all know when it's up and ready!

WRITING NEWS

I'm still in the process of writing Rhett & Dana's story...but I may have a surprise project on the side. The rough draft is complete but I'm going to have my critique partner look it over and give feedback before I do anything official with it. It's a genre I haven't officially published yet but it's different and a fun side project to keep things fresh.

REMINDER

I'm going to be in the Pittsburgh, PA area for a book signing! The signage for my table is on the way, which makes everything feel more real. If you're interested in learning more, you can find all the information available here:

This book is a prequel novella in the Finding Home series. This story leads up to the events of book one, A Half Made Whole.

When Bristol is accepted to a different college than her twin brother, Brexen, she's a little nervous. The big city of Nashville, Tennessee is very different from her small-town upbringing. But she’s not one to shy away from an exciting opportunity.

Meeting Gavin is exactly what she needs to distract her from being homesick. And as their friendship builds, doing homework together isn't the only chemistry they encounter.

When Bristol's twin drops out of his college, will the pull from that bond break apart her relationship with Gavin, or will love be strong enough to see them through?

TAWNISBOOKSHELF

This is the place where I'll share some Christian romance books that I've read and recommend. Recently, I've created a "BookTok" and "Bookstagram" specifically for book recommendations so I can focus on my books on my author social media platforms.

It's blown my mind how many woman have commented on my videos and said things like "I didn't know Christian romance was a thing!" "Tell me more!" "Give me recs!" and considering Christian romance has become a passion of mine...why not add another social media platform to juggle 😂 but I'm seriously loving every second!

This week's book is:

Man of Shadow and Mist by Michelle Griep

“The world seems full of good men—even if there are monsters in it.”

–Bram Stoker, Dracula

England, 1890

Vampires are alive and well in North Yorkshire, leastwise in the minds of the uneducated. Librarian Rosa Edwards intends to drive a stake through the heart of such superstitions. But gossip flies when the mysterious Sir James Morgan returns to his shadowy manor. The townsfolk say he is cursed.

James hates everything about England. The weather. The rumours. The scorn. Yet he must stay. His mother is dying of a disease for which he’s desperately trying to find a cure—an illness that will eventually take his own life.

When Rosa sets out to prove the dark gossip about James is wrong, she discovers more questions than answers. How can she accept what she can’t explain—especially the strong allure of the enigmatic man? James must battle a town steeped in fear as well as the unsettling attraction he feels for the no-nonsense librarian.

Can love prevail in a town filled with fear and doubt?

MY REVIEW

Growing up, I had a weird fascination with vampires. It’s embarrassing, looking back, but the lure made me curious. I never understood why these victims were so easily drawn toward the vampires to make themselves the prey. But from the very start of Man of Shadow and Mist I was hooked with that same unexplainable allure.

Sir James Morgan is this tortured soul who holds onto a dim form of hope for his ailing mother. I can’t quite explain why—but you love him from the start. And despite his lifetime circumstances and the “curse” on his family, Sir James’s attitude toward God is one of complete submission. James’s faith doesn’t require God to answer his prayers in the fashion James wants—but he trusts in the sovereignty of God—even if it is James’s downfall. This is shown time and time again through the story. And I love that it’s included. Because God doesn’t always work the way we expect—or want—Him to. Often times He doesn’t, because He’s God and He knows better.

Rosa Edwards proves herself to be a lovable little librarian from the start. She has a quick tongue and is very outspoken for a woman—especially during those times. She’s not afraid to speak against the folklore surrounding Sir James Morgan’s family. On multiple occasions she comes to James’s defense in front of the townspeople despite how it looks to the gossips of town.

The chemistry between Rosa and James was palpable and so sweet. Their friendship develops over time and grows into deeper feelings. And i love that it’s not rushed despite their obvious physical attraction.

Bram Stoker is an Easter egg that keeps popping up and I thought it was such a clever way to tie him into the story. And hearing the ending historical notes made that Easter egg even more exciting.

There wasn’t a thing about this story I’d change. The characters were amazing—including the side characters who had some great wisdom to share. The ending wrapped up the story in a neat little bow and I loved how all of the pieces and characters fit together to bring about the happily ever after.

The first time I read this book was through the audiobook. It was absolutely incredible. So if you're an audio book lover, you're going to be blown away by her narrator. Here is the link to the audio book: https://amzn.to/44DKrSN

If this sounds like something you'd enjoy reading I highly recommend you give it a try. You won't regret it!
