How are your reading goals {{contact.first_name}}?

HELLO !
Can you believe we're already halfway through the year?!
The weather is so fickle where I live. One day it is the perfect sunny day with minor humidity and the next it's hard to breathe from the high humidity! I wish the weather would just make up its mind!
My kids LOVE being outside, so on the days where the weather is manageable, they've played on their swing set and burned off some energy playing tag. And I've been able to read a paperback book! Do I get interrupted every 2 minutes to help a certain 3-year-old down a slide? Yes, yes I do. But it's still been fun reading in the great outdoors. LOL
How has your summer been going?
☕️ COFFEE TALK ☕️
I sent an email earlier in the year asking if you've set reading goals. If you have, how's it going?
Somehow I've managed to read 56 books so far this year, fulfilling my goal of 50 before the end of June. Which is crazy! Because last year I read a total of 36 books.
I've discovered some amazing Christian authors too! Some of them I've talked about previously, but others are newer!
Nicole Deese - sweet and emotional romance/women's fiction
Jaime Jo Wright - spooky and gothic suspense and thrills
Latisha Sexton - emotional romance/women's fiction and suspense
Emily Conrad - emotional and deep faith themes
Melissa Tagg - emotional and deep faith themes
T.I. Lowe - deep and emotional topics with strong faith themes
Michelle Griep - strong faith with gothic vibes with inspiration from classics
Brooke St. James - Hallmark with Christian themes
Britt Howard - sweet Christian cowboy
Jodi Basye - deep Christian cowboy/historical
That list is even longer than I realized! But I'm thrilled with the new authors I've found in this year's reading challenge! If you check any of them out, let me know!
I will continue to share some of my favorite reads in this newsletter, but if you want even more, I started a "BookTok" and "Bookstagram" account solely dedicated to sharing book recommendations!

📝 WRITER NEWS 📝
I am working on Dana & Rhett's book right now. Which is the second book of the Forever Duet. Readers seem to be both angry and excited with how I ended the bonus epilogue with Dana. Angry because it was such a cliffhanger. And excited to see what happened to Rhett and honestly, so am I! 😆
Scarlett's Scars is still in the works as well as the other books of that series! Once I have more updates, I will be sure to share!

This month, I have 2 free books to share!
First up is a book by Deb Goodman!
After failing to find love on a reality show, Landon is convinced it isn't in the cards for him. Especially since the only real connection he felt was for Whitney, the makeup artist he wasn't contractually allowed to fraternize with. As much as he wants to settle back into normal life, a reunion special is in the works, and he's moments from being thrust into the public eye once more.
Whitney is ready to make the leap from television make-up design to Broadway, but that will require a stellar reference from the reality show producers. That seems simple enough. She’s been nothing but professional. After all, her attraction to Landon was crushed when she reached out to him after the show ended, only for him to ghost her.
Yet as soon as filming begins, she realizes that wasn't the case. The picture the media painted of his social life is far from true, and the chemistry between the pair is stronger than ever. Can they resist temptation long enough to meet their obligations to the show? Or will they risk it all so that love doesn’t pass them by a second time?

Second is a book by Lynn Shannon!
Getting to the truth may prove deadly…
On a deserted country road, Janet West accidentally strikes a woman with her SUV. She gets out to render aid but is attacked and drugged. When she wakes, she’s back inside her vehicle and the woman—along with the assailant—have vanished.
Todd Duncan is shocked by the vicious assault and the haphazard investigation. Unlike the police, he believes Janet. She’s driven to find the woman regardless of the risk and, although Todd’s in town temporarily, he’s not leaving his friend to do this alone.
Yet the more they dig into the mysterious woman’s identity, the deadlier the threats become. Someone is determined to keep what happened that night a secret, and if they have to kill to do it…
So be it.
