Welcome back to Fab Fiction Friday where I share books and authors I think you'll love as well as update you on my writing journey!

MY OFFICIAL TAGLINE

I used to have a "tagline" on my website: "sweet. swoon. suspenseful." but not every one of my books will contain suspense, so I needed something new and after thinking on it and talking with some friends about it, I came up with:

FAITH-FUELED ROMANCE

Every book of mine is going to be full of faith and contain romance. And considering each book is also fueled by Jesus and His Word, I thought fueled was a great addition.

So there it is!

MEET THE CHARACTER

DANA SWANN

Dana Swann is a girl full of wit, smarts, and sass with a heart of gold.

As we learned in When Forever Comes she also has a soft spot for her big sister Olivia and will do anything for her.

She has always dreamed of being a wife and mom (which we also learn at the end of WFC) but what we didn't know (until now) is that she is afraid that she'll never be enough to snag a husband. It's one of her struggles, trusting that God has a man out there for her and we'll see her try to take matters in her own hands in When Forever Stays.

A quick list of more fun facts:

  • She is a small group leader of teenage girls at her church's youth group.
  • She has a passion for Bible study and digging into the Word of God.
  • She is a Christian influencer and shares her love of Bible study with her followers.
  • Her favorite band is an alternative rock band Phantom Echoes.
  • Other than her sister, she has one best friend, a man named Crew, who she met through a very unusual, dangerous, yet hilarious way.

Lastly, I'll share her theme passage: 1 Corinthians 15

WRITING UPDATE

Rhett and Dana's story is still in the works. I've learned a few new things about them and am excited to keep going and discovering more. I wish I had more to report on but that's all I have for you this week.

@TAWNISBOOKSHELF SPOTLIGHT

In here I will choose a book to highlight and share it with you! Every book I share here has been personally read and vetted by me.

This week's book is:

To Believe in You by Emily Conrad:

A Christy Award Finalist

Heiress Lina Abbey has been burned, so keeps her fortune a secret, especially around Matt Visser, a daredevil former rock star.

Following a broken engagement, Lina surrenders her hopes of a family of her own. Instead, she focuses on her work as rock band Awestruck’s social media manager and director of Key of Hope, a non-profit funded by the band to teach music lessons to kids from low-income families.

Matt came to Christ and got clean since his dismissal from Awestruck. However, online videos—not to mention that he just got fired again—convince Lina sobriety hasn't made him responsible. She would never offer him a position as Key of Hope's electric bass guitar instructor, but her boss overrules her.

Matt takes the position to clear an old debt, but his protective streak kicks in when he learns Lina's ex is harassing her. Matt's never been one to refuse a challenge, and winning over the beautiful but cautious Lina is too tempting to resist. He patiently earns her trust, but when a secret from his past comes to light, can they find the faith to believe in each other?

MY NOTE: This is the final book in the series and although each book contains its own HEA, I highly suggest starting from the beginning with Gannon and Adeline's story To Bring You Back.

To Believe in You is a Christy Award Finalist! Congratulations to Emily!

MY REVIEW

This was the PERFECT ending to a series I never wanted to end. Matt’s redemption was utter perfection. Lina was adorable and Matt—despite being almost hate-able in book 1–was SO LOVABLE! From the first interaction until the very end his growth BLEW ME AWAY. There is so much more I want to say but will need a lifetime to mull over these characters and savor the imprint they left on my heart. For anyone who likes Christian romance this series NEEDS to be a staple in your library. NEEDS. TO. BE. I can’t wait to see what else God has in store for Emily and her stories.

NEW! FAITH-FILLED FICTION FACEBOOK GROUP

A few friends and I have created a Facebook group specifically for genuine Christian fiction--not just books that call themselves Christian fiction but have watered-down faith. It's a pet peeve of all four of us, so instead of staying frustrated, we took matters into our own hands and created this group.

If this is something you're interested in you can join here:
