Welcome back to Fab Fiction Friday where I share books and authors I think you'll love as well as update you on my writing journey!

WRITING UPDATE

We are still chugging along. Slowly but surely. This month I have written just under 10k new words and am happy with the direction of the story. Like I said in a previous email, Rhett and Dana are making me work for it. Still.

I wish I had a more exciting update this week, but this is all I got for you.

THE THING THAT HAPPENED

I WENT VIRAL

One of my Instagram videos on my Bookstagram (Instagram) completely took off and hit 1 MILLION views. 😱

Going viral is something almost everyone who creates on Instagram wants to happen. Not only does it give a serious serotonin boost 😂 but it can also boost follower count...which for me...it did. Which excites me to no end--not because *I* have gained 19k followers, but because 19k women have followed because they WANT Christian romance/fiction recommendations! How amazing is that?! Some didn't even know Christian romance was a thing!

So through this viral video I am thanking God for the opportunity to reach a new group of women and share books written to honor Jesus with them! ALL GLORY TO GOD! It is through Him and for Him I created that account and to see that hard work come to prosper has been an incredible blessing and privilege.

Soli Deo Gloria!

BOOKS FOR YOUR TBR

I may or may not have read these books, but you can always count on them to be clean!

SWEET WINTER ROMANCE

One of my dear friends, Dulcie Dameron is releasing this sweet winter romance on Jan 1! I am SO EXCITED to read this reverse age gap, quick burn romance 😍

image

A three-day romance in Lake Tahoe with a perfect stranger.

Zero Promises. Only Kisses.

What could possibly go wrong?

Felicity Hartford is a workaholic single mom who refuses to take time out for herself. But when her two meddling besties decide to take her hostage and force her to accompany them to the slopes for a girls’ weekend away, she has no choice but to go along with their plan.

Alden Beaumont, a famous snowboarder, skateboarder, and two-time gold medalist, is still recovering from the fallout of a bogus lawsuit with his ex, which left his public image in tatters. After deciding to hire a PR agent to rework his image in time for a big competition, he takes a time-out at his family’s lodge in Lake Tahoe. But rescuing the woman of his dreams on the ski lift wasn’t at all in his plans.

And Felicity has rules. Only three days. Only kissing. No last names. No exchanging phone numbers when it’s over.

Given little choice but to agree, Alden soaks up his three days with the woman he’s sure he’s falling for, promising himself he’ll scour the entire country to find her when the mess with his reputation is over.

It’s only when he returns to real life on Monday and meets the new PR agent that he realizes he won’t need to look very far after all. If only she wasn’t pretending they’d never met.

**Three Days to Forget is a sweet, reverse age-gap, quick-burn winter romance with all cozy vibes you crave. Think roaring fires, a hot snowboarder, sizzling kisses, finished off with workplace tension that’s sure to keep you up at night.**

SWEET CHRISTMAS ROMANCE

Emily Conrad has a new book releasing December 13 that sounds so good! (And if you've been receiving my emails for the last month you know how much I love her and her books!)

His bid for a second chance this Christmas might lead to her most disastrous fall yet.

Police officer Graham Lockhart’s life is dangerous enough without accident-prone Piper Wells tripping around in it—at least that’s what she claimed when she declined his marriage proposal two years ago. But he can’t help but wonder if there is more to her refusal.

Piper always cared for Graham, but she is incapable of giving him the one thing he wants more than anything—family. All her orphaned self knows about that is how much it hurts to lose. She’s better off focusing on caring for her nephew and running her business. Secondhand furniture doesn’t break hearts.

When an injury sidelines Piper leading into the holidays, Graham steps up to help her keep her commitment to a Christmastime auction benefiting a local family. Can they overcome the hurdles between them, or will the past and their warring hopes and fears trip them up for good?

This series is a spin-off continuation of the best-selling Heroes of Freedom Ridge Series with all new characters and traditions, but the same magic of community and romance readers love.

AND FROM THAT SAME SERIES...

Another must-read author is Mandi Blake who is participating in the Christian Christmas Romance series set in Redemption Ridge!

Her handsome bodyguard is doing a great job protecting her from reporters, but she may need to protect her heart.

Former child sitcom star Alicia Carver loves the spotlight, but since launching her pop music career, the dirtier side of the business has been out to tear her apart. When her parents are charged with embezzlement, and her A-list fiancé dumps her on the red carpet, her perfect life crumbles faster than her rise to fame. Retreating to a small town seems like the best choice she has to avoid the press.

Jordan Taylor’s plan to retire from the army when he was old and gray crashed and burned in Kandahar along with his best friend. Protecting entitled celebrities from paparazzi was the last thing he wanted, but no one else would hire an amputee with an attitude problem. If babysitting a pop princess wasn’t bad enough, his next job is sending him home to Redemption Ridge to spend Christmas with the family he hasn’t seen in years.

Alicia’s heartbreak is soothed by the picturesque Christmas town, but her stoic bodyguard will barely loosen up enough to show her around. His past and his body are covered in scars, and she can’t help but wonder if he needs healing in Redemption Ridge just as much as she does.

Between Jordan, his family, and the townspeople who have welcomed her with open arms, Alicia is torn between rekindling her love of music and finding a forever home in Redemption Ridge. When the rumors start flying and wrecking her new happiness, will Alicia be able to set things right before the real world tears her new dream apart?

Visit Redemption Ridge, Colorado and enjoy the faith, friendships, and forever-afters of the Christmas in Redemption Ridge series of Christian romance.

@TAWNISBOOKSHELF SPOTLIGHT

In here I will choose a book to highlight and share it with you! Every book I share here has been personally read and vetted by me.

This week's book is:

Lulu's Café by T.I. Lowe:

When a damaged young woman is given a chance to reclaim her life in a small Southern town, she must reckon with the dark secrets she left behind in order to accept the love she deserves.

On the run from a violent past, Leah Allen arrived in tiny Rivertown, South Carolina, battered and broken, but ready to reinvent herself. By a stroke of fate, Leah is drawn to the Southern hospitality of a small café, looking for a warm meal but finding so much more. Lulu, the owner, offers her a job, a place to stay, and a new lease on life. Leah quickly finds herself embraced by the quaint community as she tries to put herself back together.

Soon Leah meets Crowley Mason, the most eligible bachelor in town. A lawyer and friend of Lulu’s, Crowley is wary of Leah’s sudden, mysterious arrival. Despite his reserve, something sparks between them that can’t be denied. But after all she’s been through, can Leah allow herself to truly love and be loved, especially when her first urge is to run?

Exploring the resiliency of both the heart and the spirit, Lulu’s Café gorgeously illustrates how old scars can finally heal no matter how deep they seem.

MY REVIEW

This book was heavy and hard hitting. The first chapter was a struggle to get through because of the intensity but boy am I glad I pushed through. The organic friendship to romance growth between Leah and Crowley was so good and so natural. Lulu was a true gem and I wish I knew someone like her in real life. Leah's past was heartbreaking and TI made the reality of her past so realistic. You don't just get over that past in a night. God's love and healing grace was woven through the pages beautifully and that ending had tears spilling down my cheeks in happiness and relief. This was my first TI Lowe book, and it won't be my last.
