Dear friends of Stand Up to Racism (Birmingham SUTR),


A reminder that our Unity Rally is taking place this Sunday 23 November in Birmingham city centre. Bring your lanterns, torches and banners to march with us on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and Girls.


Brief Updates


  • Stand Up to Racism UK have issued a statement and called for an emergency demo in London in response to Labour's dehumanising asylum plans.
  • Members of SUTR and Women Against the Far Right Birmingham and Black Country took part in a Unity Walk with the women of Walsall on Sunday 16th, and opposed fascist 'Patriotic Alternative' outside the Britannia Hotel in Wolverhampton on Saturday 15th November.
  • Free online evening training session this Wednesday 19th on 'transformative conversations': how we change the minds of others who have been influenced by divisive narratives such as racism, homophobia, and misogyny.




Birmingham Unity Rally - Sunday 23 November


This Sunday 23 November from 5pm, join Women Against the Far Right Birmingham and Black Country, SUTR Birmingham and many others for a powerful unity rally and procession of light marking the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and Girls, in Birmingham city centre.


Led by women and joined by allies from every community, the rally will be a vibrant celebration of unity in diversity, featuring music, poetry, and inspiring speeches.


Together we'll stand in solidarity against racism, hate, and the far right - and shine a light for equality, safety and justice for all.


Bring lanterns, torches and banners. This is a rally for everyone. Our voices are many, our fight is one. Together we rise!
