A Gentle Holiday Hello!

Hello Friend,
It’s been a while, so I wanted to drop in and say hello. I’m writing again and will be in touch in January. I’m so glad you’re here.

In the meantime, here’s a holiday moment from one of my books, as Nathan and Og help their young adopted daughter, during her first real Christmas... ever.
They're decorating their tree together, and discover some very odd items in her - Trasher's - box. Bits of wrinkled, used paper cut into festive shapes. Little notes from her new parents to her, things like that.

Nathan pulled Trasher over, circled her with one arm. “Honey. You kept all these? Why?” He dug gently to the bottom of the pile, past the shape cutouts, to the wad of paper she’d obviously saved over months. There was plenty more there. “They’re beautiful, and very crafty. But why?”
She stared at them, then the words simply didn’t come. Embarrassed, she hid her face into the couch, by Nathan’s leg.
Palmer spoke up.
“What your daughter doesn’t want to tell you is that obviously she treasures these little scraps of paper more than you know. It’s really very simple. It’s all proof she has a life here, and that she’s finally important.”

I hope that gives you a smile! And if by chance, you'd like to hit reply and just say a quick, simple hi and wave — I’d love to hear from you.
Wishing you warmth and ease this holiday season,
Susan
