Dear friends,
Some updates to the party plans! Cancellations first:
- The No Kings protests are happening around the city the afternoon June 14th, and it also looks like rain, so that's two good reasons to cancel the picnic.
- No one expressed interest in the Musicians for Justice concert, and that did seem like it would be a lot on top of the Mermaid Parade, so we're skipping that too.
An addition:
June 14, 7:30–?? p.m.: Brooklyn Pride's Twilight Parade! We've never been and are very excited to go.
- RSVP by June 13 if you want to go with us or meet us there.
- All ages. Kit is looking forward to waving a flag.
- Free.
- Rain plan: enjoy the parade in the rain.
And these remain as planned:
June 20, 6:30–10 p.m.: At home to visitors. We'll send a separate email about it as usual.
- RSVP by June 19 for dinner or just show up to hang out.
- All ages, as always.
- Free, as always.
June 21, 11 a.m.–?? p.m.: The Mermaid Parade in Coney Island, Brooklyn. The parade itself starts at 1, but we'll get down there earlier to stake out a decent viewing spot. Bring folding chairs if you have them, and all the sun protection you've got.
- RSVP by June 19 so we can coordinate meeting up.
- All ages. The more parents are there, the more we can take turns running the kids around on the beach so they don't get bored or overwhelmed by the crowds.
- Free.
- Rain plan: enjoy the parade in the rain.
See you soon!
Cheers,
Ash on behalf of Chris, Josh, Kit, and Alex-the-cat
