Dear friends,
Well, it's that time of year: Kit caught a cold. They're recovering fast, and so far all the rest of us remain healthy (thank God), but it's been a tiring and disrupted week. In addition, some of the friends we most hoped could come to our party aren't available on the 19th, or are battling seasonal illnesses of their own.
Therefore, we will be at home to visitors on Friday the 19th, but that will be an ordinary low-key dinner, and the festival of fried foods is moving to Friday the 26th. That's technically after Hanukkah, but I refuse to let a technicality get in the way of latkes. Besides, Emmy will be here then, and I want her to get to experience all the holiday joy even with only Shabbat candles to light.
We hope you can join us on both the 19th and the 26th! And please mask up, wash your hands, and get your covid and flu shots if you haven't already. Grab a couple of combo covid/flu/RSV rapid tests while you're at our place; we have plenty. It's germy out there and we want you all to stay healthy and safe.

The gist:
We'll be "at home to visitors" from 6:30 to 10 p.m. on Friday December 19. If you want to let us know you're coming, please do (especially if you plan to eat dinner with us), or just show up!
Arrive at 6:30 for candle-lighting and dinner; if you run late, we'll heat things up for you. Kids of all ages are very welcome before 8:30, when Kit goes to bed. Quiet adult chill time continues until 10 or whenever we turf you out.

The boring details:
- Our apartment is up a steep flight of stairs, and has a cat in residence.
- Ash has scent allergies, so please don't wear strong perfume or cologne.
- We're more than happy to accommodate any dietary restrictions we can, but cross-contamination of allergens may happen in our kitchen. We never mind you bringing your own food if that's what's safest for you.
- If you'd like to bring someone who hasn't been directly invited, please check in advance.
- Please take a rapid test at least 12 hours before coming over. At least one member of our family will do likewise. We'll also have a high-quality air purifier running, and windows open if weather permits. If you'd prefer more stringent covid precautions, please let us know.
Address: 1669 President St #2, Brooklyn NY 11213. Call or text me at 646-287-2437 if you get lost.
See you soon!
Cheers,
Ash on behalf of Chris, Josh, Kit, and Alex-the-cat
