Dear friends,
Exciting plans are afoot for our Hanukkah party on Friday December 19th! Family will join us, candles will be lit, and dreidels will be spun. The menu includes latkes (of course), chicken and vegetable stir fry, and pretty much anything I can roll in batter and throw into a vat of hot oil: green beans, mozzarella sticks (dairy and non), zucchini sticks, pickles, Oreos. Got a deep-fried favorite? Let me know and I'll add it to the list.
We're going to have a full house and then some, so expect the sort of party where you wander through the kitchen with a plate in your hand to grab whatever's hot off the stove and then eat it perched on the couch. We haven't thrown a party like that since last Hanukkah, and I can't wait.
Don't forget that we have a whole year's worth of upcoming dates for you to add to the calendar:
December 26 (with special guest Emmy!)
January 30
February 27
March 27
April 10 (with special guest Emmy!)
May 8
Sunday daytime June 14 (Ash's birthday party!)
July 31
August 28
October 30 (Halloween party!)
December 4 (Hanukkah party!)
Sunday daytime December 27 (with special guest Emmy!)
But let's not get too far ahead of ourselves. First it's time to fling some light against the darkness and kick 2025 out the door.

The gist:
We'll be "at home to visitors" from 6:30 to 10 p.m. on Friday December 19. If you want to let us know you're coming, please do, or just show up! Since pretty much everything we're cooking this time is done à la minute, there's no need to tell us you're coming, though of course we would love to know to anticipate you.
Arrive at 6:30 for candle-lighting, and anytime after that for food. Kids of all ages are very welcome before 8:30, when Kit goes to bed. Quiet adult chill time continues until 10 or whenever we turf you out.

The boring details:
- Our apartment is up a steep flight of stairs, and has a cat in residence.
- Ash has scent allergies, so please don't wear strong perfume or cologne.
- We're more than happy to accommodate any dietary restrictions we can, but cross-contamination of allergens may happen in our kitchen. We never mind you bringing your own food if that's what's safest for you.
- If you'd like to bring someone who hasn't been directly invited, please check in advance.
- Please take a rapid test at least 12 hours before coming over. At least one member of our family will do likewise. We'll also have a high-quality air purifier running, and windows open if weather permits. If you'd prefer more stringent covid precautions, please let us know.
Address: 1669 President St #2, Brooklyn NY 11213. Call or text me at 646-287-2437 if you get lost.
See you soon!
Cheers,
Ash on behalf of Chris, Josh, Kit, and Alex-the-cat
