Friday open house at Subtle House, April 10

In bloom!

Dear friends,

Gardening on my concrete patio is always a struggle, but I keep trying. This year I planted a little azalea bush at the foot of the front stairs. Azaleas are Emmy's favorite flower, and I'm so excited that it's got one (1) flower on it just in time for her to get here tomorrow! I hope you'll come by on Friday to see her and us as well as that one brave coral blossom.

For more flowers, get off the 3 at Nostrand or Kingston and walk down President to our house, admiring the flowering trees. Today I saw cherries and magnolias in every stage from barely budding to scattering petals on the sidewalk. It's a lovely time to be in Brooklyn.

If you can't make it this time, maybe you can join us on one or more of these upcoming dates:

May 8

Sunday daytime June 14 (Ash's birthday party!)

July 31

August 28

October 30 (Halloween party!)

December 4 (Hanukkah party!)

Sunday daytime December 27 (Kit's birthday party, with special guest Emmy!)

Mark your calendars now, and join us when you can. We would really love to see you.

The gist:

We'll be "at home to visitors" from 6:30 to 10 p.m. on Friday April 10. If you want to let us know you're coming, please do, or just show up!

Arrive at 6:30 for candle-lighting and dinner (advance notice appreciated so we can be sure we have food that you can eat), or after 7 to just hang out. Kids of all ages are very welcome before 8:30, when Kit goes to bed. Quiet adult chill time continues until 10 or whenever we turf you out.

The boring details:

Address: 1669 President St #2, Brooklyn NY 11213. Call or text me at 646-287-2437 if you get lost.

See you soon!

Cheers,

Ash on behalf of Chris, Josh, Kit, and Alex-the-cat
