Dear friends,
My mother loves making up evocative new words, and the word for the weather lately is grumous. Smoke, storms, heat — blech! But hopefully by the 31st it will all have settled down a bit. If it's nice out, we can enjoy the patio, now furnished with comfy chairs and a big umbrella. If not, indoors has air conditioning and air filtration. One way or another, we'll have a good time.
If you can't make it this time, maybe you can join us on one or more of these upcoming dates:
August 28
October 30 (Halloween party!)
December 4 (Hanukkah party!)
Sunday daytime December 27 (Kit's birthday party, with special guest Emmy!)
Mark your calendars now, and join us when you can. We would really love to see you.
2027 dates coming soon!
~~~
The gist:
We'll be "at home to visitors" from 6:30 to 10 p.m. on Friday July 31. If you want to let us know you're coming, please do, or just show up!
Arrive at 6:30 for candle-lighting and dinner (advance notice appreciated so we can be sure we have food that you can eat), or after 7 to just hang out. Kids of all ages are very welcome before 8:30, when Kit goes to bed. Quiet adult chill time continues until 10 or whenever we turf you out.
The boring details:
Our apartment is up a steep flight of stairs, and has a cat in residence.
Ash has scent allergies, so please don't wear strong perfume or cologne.
We're more than happy to accommodate any dietary restrictions we can, but cross-contamination of allergens may happen in our kitchen. We never mind you bringing your own food if that's what's safest for you.
If you'd like to bring someone who hasn't been directly invited, please check in advance.
Please take a rapid test at least 12 hours before coming over. At least one member of our family will do likewise. We'll also have a high-quality air purifier running, and windows open if weather permits. If you'd prefer more stringent covid precautions, please let us know.
Address: 1669 President St #2, Brooklyn NY 11213. Call or text me at 646-287-2437 if you get lost.
See you soon!
Cheers,
Ash on behalf of Chris, Josh, Kit, and Alex-the-cat
