Good Morning! Today we take our time machine back a few years when Carrera GTs were worth less than an Aaron Judge home run ball.
THE MARKET
Sell-Through Rate: 70%
Market Volume: $941,042
- Sell-through rates continue to hover around 70% affecting everything from the cheapest 914 to once hot commodity 993 Turbos. But more interestingly, 3 of yesterday's no-sales would have made it onto the top sales list this morning had they found homes.

Coulda, shoulda, woulda... lots of Porsches fit into this category of cars we wish we bought years ago that are worth multiples of what we could have purchased them for years ago, but none so much as Porsche's naughties icon, the Carrera GT.
Only three years ago this 2005 Carrera GT sold on PCARMARKET (with a reserve) for $670,000. Sub 10,000 miles, luggage, factory paint, recent major service, no stories. Earlier this year you would have put a 1 in front of that 670. What happened?
Well, in early 2021 collectors finally woke up to the fact that the Carrera GT is a legitimate blue-chip youngtimer collectible that checks a lot of boxes. Low production numbers? Check. Motorsports heritage? Check. Driving experience never to be replicated again? Check. Do we wish we had a time machine so we can go back and buy this car? Triple check.
So five years from now are we going to wish we had a time machine again? Only time will tell.
NEW & NOTEWORTHY
- Back in 2014, this Panamera Turbo Executive was the most expensive Panamera you could buy... and they sat on dealership showroom floors. With Panamera at bargain prices, will this be the ultimate in-expensive Luxo-cruiser?
- The second 911 Reimagined by Singer for sale in the last week, but this one a more recent 964 build. Although a Carrera 4, will this 1991 Singer 911 break the $1m mark?
- Holy high-mileage Batman! This 2006 Cayenne Turbo S has over 128,000 miles but looks stunning in Marine Blue Metallic Paint over Havanna.
- Not as high-mileage as the previous Turbo S, but high for a GT3, someone sure enjoyed this 2007 911 GT3 to the tune of 55,000 miles.
