- Although we were hoping for another 100% sell-through day, we weren't holding our breath. Yesterday we slid back into the '70s although volume was quite good with sales passing the $2m mark and unit volume in the low 20s.

After purchasing this 1987 962 IMSA GTP Prototype in 2019, the buyer did what any sensible collector would do, they mothballed it and held it in a safe until prices rose only to flip it for big money in 2022. Just kidding. They did what any one of us would do, they hit some of the greatest tracks around the world.
So how did they do after three years and track days at the likes of Sonoma, Spa, and the 'Ring? In 2019 the 962 was purchased for $960,000. Under current ownership, quite a few upgrades were made and maintenance performed to the tune of about $75,000 and an FIA Historic Technical Passport was issued.
Yesterday, the car sold for the fitting price of $962,000 after much biddinthe g between two parties. Well-bought? Well-sold? Who cares. Well-enjoyed by one enthusiast and will continue to be well-enjoyed by another until the next time we see this 962 on BaT in three years.
NOTEWORTHY SALES
- Unless it's a 'Package' car, 964 Turbo's are having a hard time finding new homes. This 1994 911 Turbo 3.6 reached $325,000 but failed to generate enough interest to meet the reserve.
- Purchased three years ago and subsequently restored, one has to wonder if the seller made out with this 1965 356SC Coupe selling for $131,000. In our experience, if you never add up the restoration receipts you never lose money!
- Deleting a sunroof in a new car does not have the same effect as not having a sunroof on your 964. This delivery mileage 2023 911 GTS 7sp "Sunroof Delete" failed to find a new home at $168,500. The seller was looking for $195k, which would have been about $30,000 over MSRP.

- Yes, yes, another delivery mileage 2022 GT3 Touring BUT... you must see this interior. It's a special interior for a special buyer. We'll see if there are two in the room who must have it.
- Once your retinas return to normal, take a look at this much classier 1962 356B Twin Grill Roadster finished in a classic Silver over Red.
- Ok, one more wild color. Even though they won't hear you coming in the 2020 Taycan 4S, they certainly will see you coming!
