Hello, everyone!

Happy Monday! Here's the latest edition of SYAO Creativity. Let's see what's going on in our creative world this week! There's a LOT to talk about!!!

STITCH (What I've been working on)

I designed a cross-stitch piece especially for the Jane Austen brunch. A lot of people have been asking what this event will be like. The best description is that it's a dinner-theater, only at brunch! You're encouraged to bring handwork. (How often does that happen when you go out to eat?)

It's tinier than this picture--and tinier than what I was expecting! I did it on 18-count Aida, but I'll have 14 count available, too. I definitely had to use my MagEyes! I plan to finish it so that it looks like an ornament. Stay tuned.

Next up, I plan to design some little lace knitted mitts.

I've been trying to figure out a quilting project, but I'm unsure about what to do there--maybe some wool appliqué?

You're also welcome to bring along any project you wish!

After only a week, this event is half full already, so if you want to go, be sure to sign up at Pine Grove Hall's website. Go to March 17 on their calendar.

Seating is limited!

Here's the menu for that day:

BAKERY BASKET | 12

House made buttermilk biscuits and spiced muffins served with whipped butter, local honey, and winter fruit preserves (v)

BACON AND BLUE CHEESE QUICHE | 19

A slice of our freshly made quiche filled with caramelized onions, house made bacon, and blue cheese served with a salad of local greens and mustard vinaigrette

FISH BENEDICT | 22

Gently seared Arctic Char and poached local Amish eggs on top of Gemelli Bakery rye bread with a citrus dill hollandaise’ served with a salad of local greens and mustard vinaigrette

BANANA BREAD GRIDDLE CAKES | 21

Our version of pancakes, filled with coconut, caramelized bananas, and candied walnuts (gf, vg)

YOUR (What you've been working on)

I know that it's way after Halloween, but I haven't had a chance to post Leslie's adorable little .... I'm not sure what it is! Its name is Jinx. This pattern is available through in-store sales on Ravelry, so if you want it, let me know. I'd appreciate the sale. Leslie and I had fun picking colors. Her orange pumpkin buttons were a winner!

ART (Inspired by art or nature)

Winter has such a stark beauty. This was the scene on my drive home the other day.
