My wrist aches, and belated April writing update

Apr 30, 2024 5:01 pm

Well, April came and went, and my update is finally here about two or three weeks later than planned.

Mostly, I've had my head buckled down (or in the clouds), focused on making progress on the new dragon fantasy book.

Anyway, let's get to the updates...

ICYMI last time, we have a new Shadow Watch story

This is a brand new prequel "short" story (about 40 pages, so I guess that's technically a novelette) about how Tori and Darien met. It's a story I've wanted to write for a long time, and finally made it happen for the Shadow Watch Deluxe Edition. It will be in print in the new edition (in paperback and deluxe hardcover), but you all can get the first glimpse in e-book format here:

Why Tori and Darien made my wrist hurt...

When M.L. Wang and Wraithmarked Creative put together the gorgeous special edition of one of my all-time favorite books, Sword of Kaigen, it came with a gorgeous hand-signed character bookmark. As a big-time fan, this was a real special add on, and inspired me to do something similar when I set out to create a deluxe edition of The Shadow Watch.

Last week, 600 gorgeous Tori and Darien bookmarks showed up, and I signed them all:

The deluxe paperback is all set to go and looking amazing:

The deluxe pb contains all the artwork from the faux leather edition, but in black and white. A number of backers added this on, but it is also now available for pre-order, if you were perhaps interested in the deluxe edition, but wanted a less expensive option. Eventually, it'll be available more widely, but for now, you can pre-order a copy here:

Pantheon #3 is out on Audible

The final audiobook for the Pantheon Online trilogy is now out in the world! Don't miss the conclusion, narrated hilariously by Christian Gilliland!

Writing Update

April was my best writing month this year. Lots of progress made on Children of the Gods. It's passed 40k words and is over 1/3 complete now.

It's shaping up to be something very special, and I can't wait for you all to read it.

A couple books worth checking out

The amazing Sarah Chorn is giving away some books, today only for her birthday:

A bunch of incredible authors have teamed up on this anthology of Arab horror, so definitely check it out:

What I'm Nerding Out with...

Books -- Since I last wrote, I've read another 1,000 pages of Shogun, only 300 pages to go haha. But seriously, I've had a blast!

TV / Film -- Of course, I'm watching Shogun, but haven't finished, because I haven't finished the book yet. And just started Fallout, only one episode in, but it's been a pleasant surprise for a video game adaptation.

Alright, that's all for now!

Time to dive into an epic story :)
