August Update, Deluxe News, a Kindle Sale and more

This summer has flown by. It's hard to believe it is already back-to-school season.
Since beginning to work and write from home, summer has proven to be a different working experience. A joy, and at times, a tension, as I'm sure some of you can relate to.
It's been wonderful to see my wife and kids during the day. Our new place is close to a beautiful park, and I've been able to hang out with the kids in the mornings and push them on the swings and go for Strider rides before work begins, with no off-to-preschool and daycare rush. Which has been very nice.
On the other hand, there are also... more interruptions. Which with writing can be especially challenging at times, as the best writing usually comes during sustained periods of flow.
Work from home, they said.
It's so freeing, they said.
So yes, I'll miss the more peaceful starts to the day with school kicking off soon. Buuut... I'm excited for more focused and quiet work and writing time.
Because I have a book to finish!
And on that note...
Writing Update: Children of the Gods - 75% complete
Somehow, despite the distractions, July was my best writing month of the year!
After a very busy June that saw my family move from Utah to South Dakota, where most of our family is located, I was able to settle into a better writing groove, and knocked out 20k words of the new dragon fantasy book.
Children of the Gods is now closing in on 90k words overall. About 75% complete. Something like 350 book pages written so far, with probably another 100 pages remaining.
And that puts us right on track to finish by the end of September.
The cover artwork is complete and it looks so amazing, and yes that is a cruel tease, because I'm going to hold off on any reveals until the actual cover design is finished with typography, etc.
But stay tuned! Lots of news coming over the next few months.
Shadow Watch Deluxe Editions
Speaking of news, the Shadow Watch Deluxe Editions are getting close to shipping out to backers. Like VERY close.
I received my copy last week, and it looks amazing! I made a video showcasing a few of the final features, if you care to take a gander!
And with Book One complete, and preparing to ship, that means it is almost that time again.
