Yesterday I took my kids to the viewing deck at the Burj Khalifa, the tallest free-standing structure in the world (828m tall). It’s equally terrifying and amazing being up so high, and seeing the surrounding skyscrapers from a bird’s eye view.
Here are a couple of photos I took from the viewing desk. You can see some of the man-made islands off the beach, and a canal that was constructed to run through the city.
The rapid development in Dubai is mind-boggling. Check out this photo of the same area from the 1990s.
