Happy Friday,

How's your May going so far? Can you believe it's already May?!

Our photographers have covered more great shows since we last touched base. In case you missed any...

Snail Mail at The Regency Ballroom

image

Photos & words by Marc Fong

"What makes a Snail Mail show linger is how little Jordan relies on spectacle. She let the songs carry the night... It was a show about the terror of fleeting things and, fittingly, it already feels like something you’ll be trying to hold onto."

King Tuff at The Chapel

Photos & words by Petyr Campos

"Kyle Thomas, the Vermont-born force of nature who records and performs as King Tuff rolled into San Francisco’s Mission District on Friday night and delivered exactly what the doctor ordered: a packed Chapel, a crackling stage presence, and music stripped down to its glorious essentials. Riff. Verse. Chorus. Repeat. Bliss."

New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival

imagePhotos & words by Jim Bennett

"Sometimes, you’re capturing photos in torrential downpour and it takes using a hair dryer for 10 minutes per shoe the next morning to dry them out somewhat. Sometimes, you forget to reapply sunscreen and get a near-sunburn on your nose. Either way, you’re gonna have a good time at New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival."

Rhye at August Hall

imagePhotos & words by Jon Bauer

"Last night a sold out crowd at August Hall was treated to a notable night of music. Starting with a jazzy baseline, gradually adding keys and guitar, and finally vocals, Rhye offered up a soulful, sexy, superlative opening to the show."
