Hi ,

Have you ever wondered if you are the only one who is not a perfectionist

In today's world, everyone seems to be a successful go-getter. A lot of people share their objectives, their goals and their ways to be more productive.

But...How far are we from reality?

Today, I want to give you some reasons to don't let perfection get in the way of progress.

Movie gif. Macaulay Culkin as Kevin from Home Alone runs down a New York street in heavy winter clothes. He turns around and pumps his first while he says, “Yes!” He turns back to run off down the street.

3 reasons why perfectionism is bad for your career!

  • Perfectionism is Demotivating

Striving for excellence and pushing yourself are wonderful motivators, but you’ll reduce your engagement if you carry these too far.

  • Perfectionism Distances You from Others

If you fall into the trap of believing you’re close to perfect, you also run the risk of intimidating others who know they aren’t all that. In addition, if you avoid admitting mistakes, you’ll come across as inauthentic.

  • Perfectionism Reduces Your Effectiveness

If you’re unable to move ahead or can’t get anything done, you’ll limit your ability to contribute to the project or earn kudos for your great results.

Black or white? Success or failure?

A little meme I found : r/perfectionism

To perfectionists, there are only two outcomes in any situation – success or failure.

This is a self-defeating perspective that will keep you from taking any risks in life or at work.

Leadership and success actually require you to take certain risks and be okay with making mistakes. Mistakes are not failures — they are just experiences that will help you learn and get to the next level.

So, are you a perfectionist?

It’s okay if you say yes.

The question is: are you aware of it and its effects on you and your work?

Are you doing something about it to make sure it doesn’t drive you off course?

Now... what am I supposed to do?
