MOHBAD: THE UNLEARNED LESSONS is a self-help book written by one of Nigeria’s finest writers, Soul’e Rhymez, based on the controversial death of one of Nigeria's finest musicians, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, who was just becoming a household name in the music industry before his demise.
His death raised a lot of specks of dust, a lot of social media noise, and a lot of protests and led to the arrest of Naira Marley, his formal record label boss, and Sam Larry, his associate, both of whom were suspected to have caused his death.
However, barely two months after his death, it seems everything is over. There was news that Sam Larry and Naira Marley had been granted bail. No one is asking about the cause of his death anymore. It is now almost a forgotten issue; people have moved on with their lives.
That is how it is: the dead will not be mourned for life, and those who are alive will not pause their lives forever to mourn the dead. It is important, therefore, that people learn to stay alive.
From Soul’e Rhymez’s analysis of the life of Mohbad, he realized that his death was avoidable. He believes that he will be alive if he does some things and avoids others. It is a shame that he is dead, but this book is not for him. It is for you who are alive.
There are seven unlearned lessons from the death of Mohbad. A lot of people gained from his death—the noise, the trend, the shares, the comments, the likes, and even money—but they picked no lesson from it and could become the next victim.
To prevent people from becoming the next victims of whatever took the life of Mohbad, Soul’e Rhymez analyzed the seven unlearned lessons that must be learned and applied. This book is a must-read for all Nigerian youths, especially the up-and-coming musicians.
The good thing about the book is that it is very cheap. It costs N599 for preorder and only N1500 when it is released on December 15, 2023.
