Those that blame religion for the problem of mankind are inaccurate in their assessment of the situation. Anyone with a sound mind and accurate thinking knows that neither religion nor the leaders have the power to control people, except those that choose to be controlled by them.
98% of people that are indiscriminately influenced by their religions do not choose these religions. They can't even question them because they have been told not to do so through fears; they are afraid of the consequences of doing so.
Most religious bigots are slaves kept alive by free meals; they are tutored daily with the fear that their freedom will bring them hunger and death. The fears are evident, they are the most ruthless and formidable tools in the hands of their slave-masters - religion leaders; the most effective of which is the fear of death and eternal torment in hell. With this pair of fears, they are kept in prisons without locks, yet they cannot gain their freedoms.
The reason is simple; once people’s minds are locked through fears, they usually submit their entire life to their oppressors and worship them at will. They will fight to the death with anyone that talks ill against them because they see them as their benefactors. The forgoing characteristic is customary of religious bigots.
However, the problem is not religion; it is a lack of the basic part of formal education which is not taught in an organized system of education - APPROPRIATE USE OF CRITICAL THINKING ABILITY. The religion leaders know that once people can use their critical thinking ability appropriately, they will be free from their shackles, so they designed another strategy to keep them in prison by telling them that what they teach them is the best and that they should never check other philosophies, which according to them are always from the pit of hell and will lead them to death and hell, which they so dread.
This form of teaching leaves people mentally retarded and sick. An average religious person is potentially insane; if you have any doubt that this is a fact, look for the nearest religious person and criticize his/her religious tenet and leader, you will need no other proof for the foregoing statement. However, be careful as you do this, especially if you are in the northern part of Nigeria. You may not live to tell the story.
Religious people are the most unreasonable dogmatists you can ever find. You can criticize any other things, but not their religious beliefs. Once you do that, you immediately move from being a friend if you are one already, to a staunch enemy. Some even resort to killing. If you think this is not insanity, then what is more insane than killing people because they criticize your faith?
Look, no one, regardless of the level of schooling, certificates and wealth are from the shackles of religion except they are given over to a voluntary rebirth. This may answer the question as to why many well-schooled and wealthy people are bowing to religion leaders.
The school system currently practiced does not give a voluntary rebirth; it is in itself a conspiracy by the people at the top to keep you under the ladder. They determine your grades and use them to determine your future just like the religion leaders make you believe they determine your eternity. Both of them work hand in hand.
To be free from this mental slavery, you need to sort after the most vital part of formal education, which is systematically omitted from it - SELF-DISCOVERY AND DEVELOPMENT. If you think it is only just about learning a skill, speaking good English, and making money, you are making a silly mistake.
