(Another Proof That Your Dreams Are Possible)
If you want to achieve great success or anything remotely resembling it, stop letting mediocre & small-minded people that are doing nothing significant with their lives tell you what to do with yours. This important, ponder over it before passing on.
A few years ago when I was still deep into poetry and had begun the research on my book HOW TO BECOME A GENIUS THROUGH SEX, I was so fascinated about the researches and the benefits it contains that I wrote an article stating that the book was going to cost N5000.00 when I release it.
One of the poets in my circle, who I have now removed because of his continuous negative view of life and envy, flew into a rage and said I was stupid to think that anyone in Nigeria will buy my book for N5000.00. He insulted me in many other ways too.
He had never heard that before and I understood his predicament; even his mentors did not sell their books for half of that amount. In the majority of instances, they gave these books out free of charge, begging people to read them. So, for me, a little-known poet, whose ego was bigger than what I could do poetically to say my book was going to cost N5000 was too much for him to comprehend.
Putting his stance into consideration almost forced me to give up on that dream; when I released the book, I priced it at N2000.00. I believed that no one would buy my book for N5000.00. I allowed the idiot to influence me, but as time went on, I got rid of his influence and placed N5000.00 tag on the book; I knew that the book was worth that much and wondered why I was almost begging people to buy it.
I knew it would sell! How? I was not concerned about that. Everything around me, even people's minimal interest in the book when I first released it proved that the dream was impossible, but I did not care about them. How can I sell a PDF for N5000.00 in Nigeria where people struggle to eat or even buy the same book for N1000? Well, I chose to believe in my dream, not in the facts around me.
My faith in my dream means that I achieved the dream without knowing I did, maybe because that dream has come to reality in my mind a long time ago. In fact, the dream got better as time went on. What I was thinking of selling for N5000. 00 was a print book, but I ended up selling PDF for that amount. If you doubt it, click on the following link:
However, while I was in a retrospect, I remember the guy's statement and realized too that I can encourage people with the latest evidence of the dream to come through (check the screenshot). Look, this may be an insignificant dream coming to reality, but it is enough to inspire you to believe in your dreams.
Whatever your dreams are, they are possible! Stop listening to naysayers; pay the price demanded and get the prize! The poor poet that told me nobody would buy my book for N5000.00 could not see beyond his present situation and felt threatened and irritated that I could see beyond it.
Mediocre people are like that. They try to kill your dreams so you will not grow beyond them. Another reason is that they can't see what you are seeing because they are not standing in the place of faith where you are. If I have listened to him, I may have given up on writing the book and will never even attempt to sell it for N5000.00
Many of you don't attempt to pursue your dreams because you let mediocre people intimidate you from trying. If you don't even try, how will you win? Did you dump that dream? Why? Go back and pick up your dreams! It is possible! Don't let anyone talk you out of it. If you can conceive & visualize it in your mind, then you can make it happen. Start now, you can do it!
