In the year 2019, Nigerian philosopher, Soul’e Rhymez, who is regarded as the father of modern education having created Science of Self-discovery And Development (SOSAD), a faculty of basic formal education, put forward the idea that many types of human intelligence can be called different names depending on different philosophers discovered them, but all of them must be placeable under any of the three major categories or classes of human intelligence, which according to him are as follows:
1. Photostatic Intelligence
2. Creative intelligence
3. Emotional intelligence
Soul’e Rhymez faulted the long-practiced system of education for focusing on only photostatic intelligence, which is just one of the three categories or classes of basic human intelligence. He argued that because the organized school system concentrates on the development of photostatic intelligence, students are trained to compete with search engines such as Google, Wikipedia. Etc. He predicted too that soon there will be an educational revolution, in which an army of students from different tertiary institutions will revolt against their institutions, call the school system a scam, and demand more money and time spent in school.
He reasoned that the school system has lost too many genii who had to go out of school to develop their intelligence that belongs to the categories that are not developed in organized schools. To support his claim that the school gives no room to genii who thrived high in the other category of intelligence known as creative intelligence, he made mention of a few popular inventors who had to leave school to develop their faculty of creative intelligence. They are as follows: Bill Gates (Microsoft), Steve Jobs (Apple), Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook), Larry Ellison (Software Development Laboratories), Jack Dorsey (Twitter & Square), Michael Dell (Dell Computer), Jan Koum (Whatsapp), Travis Kalanick (Uber).
He noted too that everyone has a touch of each of the three categories of intelligence. According to him, there is no one born with only one type of intelligence. A person blessed with a plentiful supply of creative intelligence may not necessarily pass in class if he is not blessed with so much photostatic intelligence, but he needs a little bit of the latter to be able to assemble his creative inventions. Moreover, for him to be able to read and write, he needs some amount of photostatic intelligence.
If he does not have at least a little bit of photostatic intelligence, he will not succeed with creative intelligence except he has to walk around with a notepad and a pen and never lose them. There is a saying that creative people forget things a lot. This is true. Their inability to retain information is because of their low photostatic intelligence.
Moreover, despite being very forgetful in other areas of life, many of them rarely forget anything connected to their inventions or creations; their photostatic intelligence works at its best when used to aid the creative intelligence they have in abundance. If they do not have a chance to explore their creative intelligence and develop it, they may remain mediocre for life and never amount to anything. They will never be happy too.
According to Soul’e Rhymez, even though everyone has a touch of each of the three categories or classes of intelligence, one must go to school or find another way to develop the one he/she is most blessed with, while others can be developed through other sources of education and experience. He explained further that photostatic intelligence must be developed at least to the level of being able to read, write, and communicate in the most acceptable language for other types of intelligence to function at their best.
