FOLLOW ME; I WILL MAKE YOU RICH, FAMOUS AND POWERFUL

imageIf your faith is limited to what you can see, this will make no sense to you. It will anger you. You will ask questions such as.

1.     How can he make people rich when he is not rich?

2.     How can he make people famous when he’s not famous?

3.     How can he make people powerful when he has no power?

4.     Who the hell does he think he is?

To all these questions, you will provide answers in your mind, and your conclusion will be either of the following.

1.     He does not know what he’s talking about.

2.     He just wants to trend.

3.     He just wants to cause a controversy.

4.     He is just an arrogant lout.

However, before you draw your conclusions, I would like to take you into one of the most popular books ever collated—THE BIBLE. In it, it was recorded that a certain Nazarene, born to an unknown woman and a carpenter foster father, went around making disciples for himself.

The first set of people he met was Simon (Peter), Andrew, James, and John, and his statement to them was, of course, as laughable as mine. He told these fishermen, “FOLLOW ME, AND I WILL MAKE YOU FISHERS OF MEN.”

That was an audacious claim from a man without a single follower and who had strong opposition from the powerful people (the Pharisees, Sadducees, and the Lawmakers). How does an unpopular and poor man without a single follower make anyone a fisher of, not fish, but men?

It does not make any sense! The dude did not even have a job; he was just walking around parading himself as the son of God, yet dared to tell those who were diligent at their jobs to follow him so he could make them fishers of men. That audacity is laughable and infuriating as well.

These guys believed him and followed him; we have no idea how he convinced them, but what we know is that he fulfilled his promise to them. As a testimony to the fulfillment of the promise, Simon (Peter), one of the fishermen, is now recognized as the first pope, and the entire Catholic faith was built on him.

Without his faith in that poor but bold Nazarene who did not look like anything great, he would have died a fisherman, and no one would have known him. His faith in that man with the audacity of the gods changed his destiny.

That audacity of the poor Nazarene came out of the convictions of his plans and mission that no one knew about, but that he was only willing to reveal to his close circle (the 12 disciples). I have a similar conviction when I claim that I will make you rich, famous, and powerful if you follow me (become a member of my close circle). I will fulfill my promise to you.

Just like the Nazarene, "I have no beauty or majesty to attract you to me: nothing in my appearance that you should desire me," but if you have faith in me and follow me, I will make you rich, famous, and powerful.
