I have seen situations in which men will drive, and then come down to open the door for their romantic partners just to show that they are romantic. That is just plain stupidity. Many of the things women use to measure romantic men are stupid things. You have to be an idiot to fit into their romantic measure.
Unless the door of your car or house is difficult to open and requires strength or technical skills to open like the Danfos in Lagos or she is handicapped, you have no business opening any door for your partner to show that you are romantic.
You are supposed to be her leader in that relationship, not a doorman or gatekeeper. If the situation demands that you do it, no issues, but it must not be out of trying to let her know you are romantic. It is not your duty to do it!
Why can’t she open the car door and come out? Oh yeah, she is a queen and must be treated as one, but what are you? Have you seen a king opening doors for his queen? Yes, it makes her a queen, but what does it make you? An idiot.
Such an act can only be considered romantic if the woman will do the same for the man where and when needed. But in your existence, have you seen a woman opening a car door or any other door for
a man unless she is a police officer or security officer on duty?
Why don't they do it?
Because it belittles them – they know queens do not open doors for anyone, including their kings. They know who they are. They are smart, but men who do it for them are morons. They will do everything to satisfy women. They are a bunch of slaves trying to satisfy their owners.
“I will catch a grenade for you, but you WON’T DO the same for me” is not romance, it is stupidity!
Romance is “I will catch a grenade for you, but you WILL DO the same for me.”
Romance is when partners take up the most demeaning duties for each other or sacrifice for each other when it is hardest to do so. Efforts and sacrifices have to be complimentary between partners for romance to be born; otherwise, it is a prey-predator situation.
A word, they say, is enough for the wise, but these are more than a word, and I believe you are wise.
