Dear ,
I hope this month's newsletter finds you well. As for me, I am doing much better. My doctor tells me that my Lyme's Disease, Cat Scratch Fever, and Yersinia are all dormant. The reality is I will always have them, and dormancy is the best possible outcome. Now the trick is to keep them in a dormant state while managing my Celiac Disease and Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) (I'm stage 3A).
Now, my focus is on 2 lingering health issues: 1) my left hand/arm is still numb with intermittent shots of pain, and 2) I need to lose weight to avoid complications for my CKD. So I am working on dropping some weight - starting with the weight I gained when I was laid off. My doctor has me walking for 45min every day ensuring I break a sweat--so no leisurely stroll. But overall, I am feeling much better!
So, on to book news.
I am working on that historical second chance Christmas romance, though slowly. It has some fun tropes in it: secret baby, second chance romance, forbidden love, and destined to be together. So you will have to keep an eye out for it in November.
I also want to share some possibly unexpected news, I am launching a new pen name in 2026, S.E. Mowbray. I plan to diversify my writing into the contemporary romance space. I am not quitting historical romance. But I need to add some revenue streams to my writing portfolio. And, I also have some stories to write that just can't be told in historical settings.
So, if you would like to get a sample of what is to come, you can do that when you become a paid member. I just released a short story, Command Performance (A San Diego Ballet Theatre Story), as a free gift to my paid members. I have to tell you guys, I LOVE this cover!
If you have been with me for a while as a reader, you may remember that I was a dancer. I attended part of college on a dance scholarship until my old knee injury finally caught up with me. So, I have now incorporated my two creative passions into one endeavor.
Read on to learn more about the story and how to get a copy!
She wasn’t interested in billionaire playboys…
Trish’s life was finally on track after a failed college relationship. She’d become a soloist with a wonderful ballet company and had a principal dancer role in her sights. She lived in an amazing city, had a wonderful circle of friends, and dated when she chose. And she chose to stay away from rich boys after being burned once.
He always got what he wanted…
Ryland hadn’t lost out on much in his charmed life. He could count on two fingers the times things hadn’t gone his way. At least until he met a fiery dancer who refused to give him what he wanted. And he wanted her, maybe even forever.
Two worlds collide…
Trish and Ry’s battle of wills comes to a head when he corners her in the ladies' room on opening night. Can one kiss change everything, or was he destined to be alone?
