Happy Mother's Day!
TL;DR
- Job News - No Job
- Happy Mother's Day!
- Second Chance Christmas Romance is on track
- Opening A New Publishing Lane - Contemporary Romance
- My 2025 Reader Survey
Dear ,
Wow, I wish I had good news to share. May is proving to be a trying month. Still no job. That is all I am going to say for the moment so this doesn't become a vent session.
I want to take a moment to wish all the mother's on my newsletter the most wonderful of Mother's Days. May you all be allowed to sleep in, eat well, and share a wonderful day with those you love. Failing in that, may you get a little time to yourself to curl up with a good book!
I am working on that Second Chance Christmas Romance (Archibald and Gertrude) and it is going well. I'm 6K in and pleased with how the story is coming along. More to come on that front...
In other news, I am thinking about expanding my writing business. I do not do this lightly because well, everything is in chaos right now. But, the reality is that the historical romance market is contracting, not growing. And while historical romance will always be my first love, I need to expand my publishing opportunities.
What does that mean?
For now, that means that I will continue the new series I started, The Ladies League, but I will not be starting the other new series I had been planning to write, The Four Lilies. It does not mean I will never write it, just not right now.
Instead, I am working on plotting a whole new series in a whole new sub-genre. I am going to be shifting to Contemporary Romance. I have an idea I am working out now and once things take better shape I will share more.
In the meantime, in case you missed it last month (that newsletter was a whopper!) I have put together a survey to help me understand you as readers and newsletter subscribers. If you take a few moments to fill it in, it will help me send better newsletters! Promise.
That's it for May! Keep reading for a free book and a new release from Golden Angel.
All My Love,

When he kissed her in the library, he didn’t know she was his best friend’s little sister…
Lady Tiffany Bolton, sister of the Duke of Bolton, is painfully plain and dull.
At least, that’s how her brother describes her as he bemoans the necessity of finding her a husband.
So the rakish Duke of Clarence can hardly be blamed when the pretty girl he kisses in the library turns out to be none other than Lady Tiffany herself.
Caught mid-kiss with the ugly duckling turned beautiful swan, Gregory is left with no choice but to announce their engagement and save her reputation. And if they want to keep Society off their backs, they’re going to have to convince everyone they’re deeply, madly in love.
Which shouldn’t be too hard, since Gregory can barely keep his hands off his beautiful, enchanting bride to be.
In fact, the only thing more difficult than not falling in love with his best friend’s little sister might be solving the mystery of their fathers’ murders…
