product presentation

✍️what's going on here?

Product Managers have to tell many sorts of stories, such as: future product vision; technical dependencies; (re)organisational structures; strategic decisions; roadmaps; and many more.

👋what does it mean?

Stories are thrilling to listen to when unexpected things happen. Predictable is boring. You'll need to strike a balance between being unpredictable and messy.

💡why should you care?

PMs must rely on influencing and communication skills to build better products. Presentations skills, then, are a must-have.

identifying stakeholders for success

✍️what's going on here?

For a better product and a smoother decision-making process, it is important to get clarity on product stakeholders very early in the project. And there's a process for that.

👋what does it mean?

As different stakeholders have different priorities and expectations for the product, a deep understanding of your stakeholders could be crucial for your product success or failure.

💡why should you care?

it is worth investing time and effort to understand for each new project who has a stake and whom to manage closely or others to just to keep informed. A tool to support product managers is stakeholder identification and how this results in a stakeholder map.

✍️what's going on here?

There's no "right" way to view a website. If we want our creations to succeed, we need to accommodate all the ways in which they're experienced.

👋what does it mean?

Instead of prescribing a single "right" way and accepting the fragility that comes with that specificity, it's far better to instead aim for something so robust that it can take any weird thing you throw at it.

💡why should you care?

People arrive at a product with all kinds of different intentions, perspectives, and levels of familiarity at their disposal. When you address uncertainty with flexibility, you generate resilience.
