It’s a rainy Sunday here. I’m here singing hymns and reminiscing about my days in Anglican church. As a young girl, my church family provided a loving environment and was a great positive influence on me. I’m still reaping rewards of the Girls' Brigade, bible drills, book competitions, youth church, public speaking practices as my 8 year old self reads the bible in front of a large congregation. Today I’m writing an ode to my Sunday school teachers. Yemi Awosika, Femi and Christy Ogunjimi, and those elderly men I can’t even remember their names but I still carry their impact. thank you for your sacrifices and love. As 2021 gradually closes its door, Dear deep souls, I know we are excited and planning for 2022, In case like me, introspection is one of your superpowers, you might be off on a retreat or spending time alone to reflect. I love my poem titled ‘the mirror’ so much. It reminds me that self-reflection without compassion is torture, if you are taking a mirror to your soul in this season, whatever you find, be kind. Remember the person you were yesterday is not who you are today, you and i are mutable, when you hit on your blind spots, be kind to yourself, commit to growth and ask for help where needed. It’s your turn to evolve! Merry Christmas and lots of love from me to you.
