Be yourself. Love yourself. Take care of each other.
Hello, world! Shelly here! Time for another edition of Take Care, a weekly-ish bit of tips and updates to help you be yourself, love yourself, and take care of each other (and yourself!) I’m Shelly of Geek Out of Water.
Memorial Day Sale - 20% OFF
I hope everyone in the US has a moment today in between barbeques and shopping to take a little time for quiet remembrance in honor of those that have given their lives for our freedom. 🇺🇸
And if you're in a shopping mood, I've got my entire shop on sale at 20% off all day (and that DOES stack with deals like the 2-for-$32 bakuchiol)! https://shopgoow.com
YouTube Updates
After the insanity of the end-of-semester rush at work, I will get back into the swing of things over on YouTube this week! Friday, I posted a long chatty Spa Night video with some BIG skin care news - an old favorite product is BACK!
Yes! Science Serum Tight Eye is back! I thought we'd lost them for good. It's been over a year since they had the supply chain issues that put them out of stock long-term, but they now have a limited supply of fresh Tight Eye available and I've got an affiliate code with them - 10% off with code SHELLY (and they've lowered their prices since last year!) If you're new to Tight Eye, here's one of the many videos I've done about it, showing some of my results. It's wild - I looked back and the first video I made about Tight Eye was 6 years ago (long before they knew who I was).
Knock on wood, the usual Mon-Wed-Fri posting schedule should be back in effect this week (though I need to sit down and film as soon as I send this email!) I've got the new MUFE foundation as well as the Urban Decay Face Bond and Serena Williams' new foundation to try out, a new Alter Ego eyeshadow palette to share with you, some new drugstore makeup I picked up, the latest release of the Banish microneedling derma-stamp... lots of stuff to fill up the next couple of weeks! What would you like to see first? Reply to this email and let me know!
I am teaching one summer class right now, but it is online/remote so I don't have to commute into campus (love that time savings!) And it'll wrap up in 3 weeks so my focus for the summer will be YouTube and working on my skin care formulation certification and formulating new products for my skin care line. I talked a bit about my plans in Friday's video! What would you like to see me add to my line? Barrier repair style lotion and a repairing hand cream have been popular ideas in the comments so far. Feel free to reply to this email with your ideas or wish list!
YouTube Anniversary Celebration
I'll also be announcing the anniversary celebration giveaway soon to mark the 8-year anniversary of Geek Out of Water on YouTube! As a huge THANK YOU to all of you, I'll be giving away a $100 Ulta gift card, some gift cards to my shop, some makeup and skin care bundles (some from GOOW and some from commercial brands), a bunch of t-shirts, and other goodies! Stay tuned for details! Here's a sneak peek of the t-shirt design:
That's all for now - time to get some videos filmed for this week! I hope you've all had a great weekend and a safe and peaceful Memorial Day.
Thanks and remember: be yourself. Love yourself. Take care of each other,
💜 Shelly
