Update from Shawn--a defeat and a victory!

Well, I seem to fight every year to get my grape vines to grow. Although, growing's not the problem. I can get the vines to grow. I just can't get the grapes to grow! And when the grapes finally do grow, the birds eat them!

This year, a friend gave me some of her grapes, and between that and the tiny amount I harvested from my own vine, I finally have some grape jam! Oh how I've longed for this!

But what did grow were my jalepenos! I ended up harvesting close to 200 of them and made about 4 liters of hot sauce! It's not quite as sweet or grapey as the jam, but I like it! Now I'm putting jalepeno sauce on everything and finding excuses to eat grape jam at every turn!
