I'm Sorry I've Been MIA
, I hope this email finds you well!
For me, 2020 is kind of a dumpster fire of emotions. Just when I started to see the light at the end of the tunnel of the pandemic, the US erupted with unrest over our continued problems with systemic racism and cries for a much needed change.
The world sometimes is just too much when you are sensitive. I’m sure some of you are like that’s not a real thing, but believe me when you can feel other people’s emotions it can be paralyzing. Like a cold, heavy, downpour flowing over you quickly causing you to not be able to catch your breath. I’ve had to step back from social media and news for the most part. I haven’t felt like doing much of anything other than working at the day job and playing a video game. Some days, like today, I stayed in bed until almost noon.
I’m not depressed in the traditional sense, but I do often feel like a drained battery struggling to recharge. I’m tired of people treating other people poorly. Nothing sums it up any better than the line from The Green Mile: “Mostly, I'm tired of people being ugly to each other. I'm tired of all the pain I feel and hear in the world...every day. There's too much of it. It's like pieces of glass in my head...all the time. Can you understand? ...”
Even though I finally got what I always wanted, a chance to work at home, the sudden and abrupt changes of my daily structure have somewhat caused the awesomeness of this situation to wane a bit. I find myself with plenty of time to work on my projects and do all the things, but not with a lot of the desire I once had. Truthfully, it makes me feel guilty that I’m not out there grinding every day on my projects. I feel like I should have more to show for my time other than 3 PM naps and a level 60 character on a game.
So, I apologize if I’ve been quiet or you’ve been missing me out there on my social media channels. I’m trying to get back into a productive groove and I hope to have new books and new art finished this year.

Spotify Fun!
As someone who suffers from ADHD, music is a useful tool to help me focus. Music is also a great way to help me get out of a bad mood and get my creative juices flowing.
Since I’ve been teleworking, I haven’t really had the need to listen to much music because it is very quiet here at my house during the day. Yet, I still enjoy music when I am creating because it seems to make the words come out faster. I love nothing more than plugging in and letting go of reality for a bit.
I used to have Amazon Music unlimited, but when I got a new phone plan I discovered Pandora. Unfortunately, Pandora wouldn’t play the MP3s on my phone and didn’t have all the “weird” music I enjoy from anime and movies. I found a few songs on Apple Music, but not everything and what I did find I had to buy...which can get expensive, especially if you only want to listen to the song a few times! Right now, I’m trying out Spotify. I’m very happy with the available “weird” music and the fact that Spotify can sometimes find me new music to enjoy.
