Propane Handler’s Training

Fee: $100

This certificate course is designed to provide participants with comprehensive training on the safe handling, storage, and transportation of propane cylinders and the safe use of direct and indirect propane-fired portable heaters used in construction and other temporary heating applications.

This program also includes hand-held propane torches rated up to 400,000 BTUs.

Chainsaw Safety

April 14 and 15, 2026

9:00am-3:30pm

LOCATION:

Elma Memorial Community Centre

251 Main Street, Atwood Ontario

Fee: $315

This 2-day Chainsaw Safety training course will be held on April 14 and 15, 2026. It is compliant with the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act, O Reg 213/91 section 112 (1.1). Successful trainees will receive a certificate of achievement and wallet card valid for a period of 3 years.

Please note: all participants are required to bring a chainsaw and personal safety equipment. A complete list will be provided upon registration.


Safe Food Handling

Friday April 24, 2026

9:30am-3:30pm

Location: Steve Kerr Memorial Complex, Blueline Room

Fee: $60


The Food Handler Certification Program teaches food handlers the general principles of safe food handling, this certificate meets the mandatory Ontario food safety training requirements, is recognized by all health units in Ontario and is valid for 5 years.

Topics include:

  • public health legislation
  • food microbiology
  • food allergies
  • temperature control
  • cross-contamination
  • personal hygiene
  • cleaning and sanitization

Launch a Home Daycare

Thursdays starting on March 26

9:30-11:30am

LOCATION:

Online via Zoom

This 6-week course will walk you through how to create a business plan, develop daycare policies, review legislative requirements and explore healthy child development topics to launch your own business. It will provide practical tools, tips and networking opportunities to make your future a success!
