"When you understand why something really hurts, it stops hurting.
When you understand you have options, you take action."
I know that change is hard.
It's hard to stop doing something that is a part of your identity and start something new.
It's hard.
While I was waiting for the change to feel natural and light, guess what?
Nothing was changing.
Noting was changing because I wasn't changing, I was waiting.
Things started to change when I realized that I had to do the difficult thing.
That I had to drop the old and easy and embrace the new and difficult.
And so, day after day, I decided to do the new and difficult.
Where did I get the motivation?
It's really not that profound.
I just knew that I didn't want the old anymore.
I wasn't sure I'd succeed but I was sure 100%, that I didn't want the old anymore.
Are you happy with the old?
If not, understand that it's going to be hard for a while.
It's hard to start reading or listening to English content now.
It's hard because it's new and you probably don't have a huge supply of extra energy.
That's why it's important to be patient and positive.
Criticism is an energy killer, the energy you need for this new habit.
TWO THINGS FOR YOU TO TRY THIS WEEK:
- Trade criticism for one compliment a day (about your learning and English) and notice how your energy grows.
- Understand that hard is normal and understand that you have options. Try being responsible and do the new and hard if you no longer want the old.
That's it for today.
Bonus task: write down your current thoughts, dreams, and habits you want to build and send them to your future self, using this website.
And send me your insights if you have any after reading this :)
Do sutra,
xoxo
