ICF-MetroDC -

Quarterly Frederick Coaches Coffee

We continued our theme for this year of ICF Professionalism at

Dublin Roasters.

We met and shared about our coaching journeys, joys, and challenges in a comfortable meeting space. This warm and inviting atmosphere allowed participants to share and encourage each other.

Some resources shared by the attendees are:

Pascale Brady - Coach | Speaker | Trainer | Consultant (https://thechallengecoach.com/)

Shared the following resources:

  1. THE PARENTING HOUR

A weekly hour-long parenting drop-in meeting I offer every Tuesday at 12pm EST to support struggling parents with any of their parenting challenges: https://thechallengecoach.com/parenting-hour

  1. TEAM COACHING: ACTION LEARNING

Action Learning is a fantastic team-coaching methodology for solving real and complicated problems, where participants may only speak in response to questions, and a coach intervenes to turn the work itself into a leadership and team-development exercise.

  1. PSYCHODRAMA

Psychodrama is a powerful therapy method developed by Jacob Moreno where a person (the client-protagonist) enacts a real (usually problematic) situation or relationship on the spot, using other group members as role players, rather than just talking about it. A trained director (certified psychodramatist) guides the action - often using techniques like role reversal or doubling - so the protagonist and the group gain insight through lived enactment instead of discussion.

There is a fantastic local Psychodrama Training program based in Laurel MD which offers on-going psychodrama workshops and trainings: https://www.lptipsychodrama.com

Cathy Nugent, the founder and owner of LPTI and I co-authored a book on how to use psychodramatic action methods in coaching:

The cost is $75 per participant. This workshop is designed for individuals who carry complex or tender chapters in their personal stories— (ex: those who have experienced power‑based abuse, those who have placed a child for adoption, those who have had an abortion...). It offers a supportive, creative space for anyone seeking healing, reframing, and renewed connection to their own resilience. Participants will reframe their stories through storytelling, movement, and art. If you know someone who would benefit or be interested, please have them contact me, Rebecca Rothenhoefer for registration details.
